old fun

i was just doing a bit of spring cleaning
over the weekend and was so happy
to find that i did own the above play-cards
(hidden behind that big encylopedia)

stumbled upon and bought the cards
at one kedai mamak in Melaka
masa balik cuti last November 2005

all of the sudden
good old memories came down pouring
i.e. happy times of playing these cards
with friends during early primary school years
i.e. faces and names of childhood friends
that i wish i knew how they are doing right now

was spring cleaning that day
since was also expecting some (Malaysian)friends
to come over for a (long-overdue) lunch
(that i had promised to host for centuries it seemed)
we finally made it through last Sunday afternoon

yadi yadi yada.. after tea and coffee
we did play a few rounds of cards

well.. they agreed to join in
since they too.. once..
were the children of the 70s

didn't have the luxury of all those games... that was way back in the 70s.. am i that old? i'd prefer senior...

I was more into teng teng, batu seremban, galah panjang and rounders...

hehe..

- MonMom -
all the kids' daily games you mentioned tu
myself was there too

among my fav were
bola cap, susun selipar
and kona-kondi

mannn.. those were the days..

cumanya.. the card-games tu
perhaps the 'luxury' part
of being at Klang Valley area
hehe..

nonetheless
those old days kids' games
were much much more better
in developing our interpersonal and communication skills (among others)

am wondering though..
other than the playstations and gameboy nowadays,
do the children of the new millenium
(be it in kampung or bandar)
are being introduced to teng-teng,
galah panjang and the likes..
by their parents?
