dangerous drivers
one aspect of Road Bullies -
instances in Malaysia
case study:
kalau kita sedang memandu/memotong kenderaan lain
110kmh di lorong memotong/laju
kemudian datang sebuah kenderaan dari belakang
yang (boleh dijangka) memandu lebih dari 110kmh
kenapa mesti kita 'membenarkan' dia
sekiranya kita berbuat demikian, bermakna
the ground rules are;
- jika seseorang telah memotong, patutlah ke tepi
but,
jika seseorang yang hendak memandu 'lebih laju'
sekali pun, apa HAK mereka untuk memberi high-beam
kepada pemandu lain supaya ke tepi?
ini adalah roadbully. period.
pemandu lain perlu/boleh ke tepi
jika dia tidak memotong
all i wanted to point out
is the irony.. of some driving behaviour
just to name a few, not to judge though
since, every drivers has their own stories
on the road
there is a better way to give warning
to 'cruiser' like me
(and of course
if someone not giving way to ambulance and the like
that pure stubborn and stupidity)
however, sometimes there are people
that are not as alert and articulate, as we are
and sometimes there are drivers on the slow-lane
not giving way to the 'cruiser'
that is overtaking his/her car
to move to the lane
as such vehicles are approaching
i could not agree more with the notion that
we must have a better culture in driving
the fast-lane is definitely for overtaking purposes
it does not mean that
whomever is driving at 110kmph
has the right to be at the fast-lane
at all time
the one that i was trying to dictate is those
who are HIGH BEAMing other drivers
as the latter is about to overtake
other-slower-drivers at 110
and as the culprit is coming from behind
at a pace more that 110
the culture should be:
let the 'cruiser' at 110
overtake the other car and shift to the slow-lane
by themselves
and not by mere anger and hate
(since they just had been HIGH BEAMED by those
that are so much in a hurry)
i bet, this is one of the many reasons
banyak pergaduhan, bad tampered incidents
even kemalangan di lebuhraya
if you want to overtake
and there is a car in front of you
don't use your high beam, please
that is rude... by any standard..
and by the way,
beaming others to overtake him/her
is not an international standard
in UAE, UK and and some states in the US
it is very rude and an offence
if you are tailing others too close
let alone beamed others
the right and standard manoeuvre
(if we still remember
when we attended kursus memandu before)
is by switching on or using
our right signal/indicators
and wait till the car in front of us
have moved into the slower-lane
pendek kata -
"sabar la banggg..."
"be patience, please"
a little tolerance, courtesy and understanding
goes a long way towards a stress free journey
nevertheless..
driving does need
a lot of good judgment and instinct
so is life in general...
good luck!
life's suck?
:)
