safe seat


this June, the Malaysian Government
will enforce the rear seat belt ruling

bravo! finally!
better late than never..

pemakaian Tali Pinggang Keledar..

the impact in the time of collision
between cars.. could/would be worse
if the drivers/passengers did not wear seatbelts..
proven, and no question about it, right?

tetapi,
interesting enough, is that..

dalam Seksyen 7(a) Peraturan Kenderaan Bermotor
(Keselamatan Tali Pinggang Keledar) 1978
[P.U. (a) 378/1978]
memberikan pengecualian kepada sesiapa
yang berada dalam kenderaan polis, tentera,
bomba dan ambulans
daripada memakai tali pinggang keledar ....

apa ni?????

bukankah memakai tali pinggang keledar ini
perlu kerana keselamatan?

adakah ini memaklumkan bahawa
anggota polis KEBAL?
(undang-undang mahupun tubuh-badan)

Lead by Example...

jika anggota polis di negara-negara lain,
perlu dan memang memakai tali pinggang keledar,
rasanya, Malaysia juga Boleh!!!

the culture ..

well.. as i said.. lead by example..
the authorities.. the police / enforcer
are not doing so..
how could the others follow?

someone did mention to me that;
the police need not to wear seatbelt
reason being; for the 'effectiveness' of the job?
i.e. sebab senang nak keluar kereta
bila nak kejar penjahat...

huh???

hmmm... one may even wonder..
if other policemen in other countries
who are wearing their seatbelts
are they not effective then?

the point that i wanted to stress out here..
is the issue of SAFETY

MALANG tidak berbau
dan tidak mengenal siapa

here i go again


oh my...
it has been long, long time
about 3 months ago, since i last blogging

at times, i thought of scrapping off
my blog(s) altogether
i must admit, i did lose
the momentum, the interest
to write and to blog anymore

but hey, hell no !!!
i am not that easy to quit
i am not that person

hehe..

ah well.. here i am..

hmmm..
was in Malaysia.. last March
for about 3 weeks or so
attending to mum's condition mostly
with, of course, the support of
my siblings and dad

long story cut short
here's the update of on mak's condition;
- mak setuju and undergone the operation
potong (part of) kaki kanan
until paras bawah lutut sikit
that was on 17 of March
- mak no longer in pain (unbearable pain)
now, sedang jaga and tunggu luka operation
to heal, and of course, continue with life
as normal as it can be
insyaAllah.. aminn..

throughout the whole process
since last October
and especially during the toughest period
(that is few weeks before the operation)
my adik-adik and abah
was being very helpful and strong
and mak was the strongest of course

tak dapat nak describe in words
how bersyukur and berterima kasih
kepada abah dan adik-adik
for being fully attentive and supportive
in ensuring mak to have and to be in
the best possible condition and ways

in whatever situation and predicament

sesungguhnya..
syurga itu terletak
di bawah telapak kaki ibu

and to witness all these
with my very own eyes
was indeed a bigger privillege

alhamdulillah..
now, mak dah makin bertenaga
sebab dulu mak selalu penat
and lagi sakit sebab tahan sakit

now, mak dah ada and banyak selera
nak makan dan minum
(of course, with several dos and donts)

mak been discharged
couples of week ago
now kat umah je

and now dah boleh naik-turun and pakai
kerusi roda, by herself, unattended
the progress is promising
abah told me semalam, via phone
insyaAllah..

above all, the situation
did turn the closeness in my family
closer than we could imagine
with my siblings mostly
whom had been growing up so fast

and definitely growing up to be a better person
aminnn..

everybody's free

hmm..
it has been a while..

again.. i must confess
too occupied with work
and other priorities

nevertheless..
at times like these
- when i am feeling restless and out of sort
i would like to start my day
by listening to this song below

wish not to go deep into who's who

the important thing..
there are wonderful words to ponder upon..
and, thought of sharing..

Ladies and Gentlemen...

Wear sunscreen.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future,
sunscreen would be it.

The long term benefits of sunscreen
have been proved by scientists
whereas the rest of my advice
has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering experience.

I will dispense this advice now...

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Never mind.
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth

But trust me,
in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself
and recall in a way you can’t grasp now
how much possibility lay before you
and how fabulous you really looked.

Sing.

Floss.

Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t.
Maybe you’ll divorce at 40,
maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken
on your 75th wedding anniversary.

Whatever you do,
don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself, either.
Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.

Enjoy your body, use it every way you can.
Don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it,
it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own.

Dance. Even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.

Do not read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents,
you never know when they’ll be gone for good.

Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle.

prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old,
and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young
prices were reasonable, politicians were noble
and children respected their elders.

Respect your elders.

Don’t expect anyone else to support you.
Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse;
but you never know when either one might run out.

Don’t mess too much with your hair,
or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy,
but, be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia,
dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal,
wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts
and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen.
